Chevy offers two engine options for the Silverado 3500: a 6.6L gasoline V8 and a 6.6L Duramax® turbocharged V8. Both engines offer plenty of power, but if you’re after the maximum Chevy Silverado 3500 towing capacity of 36,000 pounds, you’ll need the diesel V8 engine in the Regular Cab configuration with a 5th-wheel/gooseneck.
